LIGHTHOUSE MUSEUMS
|
Regular Museums (M) where lighthouse artefacts are on display. This may include actual lighthouses that have been removed from their original location and rebuilt, lightships, lenses and lantern rooms, light source apparatus, photographs, logbooks, reference data and historical displays. Operational Lightstations (O) where organized access to (the tower) keepers' houses and other buildings is available. Some may also offer accommodation in the keepers' houses and have small museums. This group is subject to change. Note: At this time Queensland is the only state that does not cater for public accommodation in the state owned lightstations. Non-Operational Lighthouses (N) that allow self-guided tours or organized access. They may also offer accommodation in the keepers' houses and have small museums. |
